Job 101: Setup Consultants

Our Setup Consultants Program is for 401k-knowledgeable people who want to help 401k Easy Online clients while working independently from their own home or office. No selling or travel is involved. All work is done via telephone and e-mail. Setup Consultants answer 401k Easy Online clients' plan customization questions and, after the clients receive their customized 401k Easy Online systems, help the clients get started with their actual self-service 401k plan administration using 401k Easy Online.

  • Setup Consultants earn $300.00 per 4 hours (or less) of their time.
    Helping 401k Easy Online customers with their plan customization questions generally takes one hour or less. Helping 401k Easy Online customers get started with their 401k Easy Online plan administration can take up to three hours; most 401k Easy Online customers require substantially less time — if any. Setup Consultants earn $300 per 401k Easy Online customer assigned to them, even if the customer uses less than the four hours of allotted time.
  • Setup Consultants work via telephone from their own homes or offices.
    All 401(k) Easy Setup Consultants' work is done over the phone (and, to a much lesser extent, via e-mail). You can operate from any location you like so long as when you contact 401k Easy Online customers the conversation can be conducted in a business-like manner (no excessive or inappropriate background noise, cell phone interference, etc.)
  • Setup Consultants set their own hours.
    We contact you regarding a 401k Easy Online customer needing help, assign the customer to you, then you contact the customer. Customers sometimes specify a "best time to reach me" time, but other than that you can contact the customer at whatever time during normal business hours is most convenient for you within the ensuing 24 hour period.

    We can assign a case to you via e-mail, phone, pager or cell phone, whichever best suits your needs. As a 401k Easy Online Consultant, you never have to sit chained to your desk waiting for our calls. We do require, however, that you be easily reachable and that when you contact our customers you do so in a professional, timely manner and from a location that in no way inhibits you providing the service contracted for (excessive or inappropriate background noise, cell phone interference, etc.)
  • Setup Consultants help customers understand their plan customization options.
    401k Easy Online customers have a variety of plan customization options for their 401k plan (inclusion or exclusion of loans, matching contributions, automatic enrollment, and more). Setup Consultants explain 401k Easy Online's plan options to customers unsure about which options they want for their company 401k plan. Consultants review with clients the basic pros and cons of the various 401k options, answering clients' questions along the way and acting as an information source for (not an advisor to) the client. Plan customization consultations typically last one hour or less.
  • Setup Consultants help customers get started with their 401k plan administration.
    After the 401k Easy Online client receives its customized 401k Easy Online 401k plan, online administration software and companion materials, the client is entitled to free help with using the system. Setup Consultants help clients get their 401k plans up and running, which typically involves leading the client through inputting needed employee information, how to hold enrollment meetings and enroll participants, and/or how to input employees' participation designations.

    Our online 401k software is very easy to use (try it out for yourself via our Demos page). The software comes with its own guided tour as well as a comprehensive yet easy-to-read 401k Management Guide. Many clients never request any help with getting their plans up and running.
  • Even if a customer assigned to you never asks you for one minute of getting started help, you still earn the full $300.
  • No selling involved.
    The goal in Consultants providing 401k information to our customers is to help each customer create the 401k plan best suited to its needs. We have no interest in customers choosing one plan option over another and in no way encourage our Consultants to "push" for specific choices.
  • Setup Consultants earn extra $$$ for helping with plan conversions.
    If you have experience in handling 401k plan conversions, especially small plan conversions, let us know. Numerous small businesses are dissatisfied with their current 401k plans and/or plan administration services and are attracted to 401k Easy Online's cost-savings and operation control. Their existing 401k plans must be converted to fit within the 401k Easy Online customizable IRS-approved prototype 401k plan.

    If you are interested in helping convert existing 401k plans for use with 401k Easy Online and are qualified in this regard, please indicate as much on your Application. Plan conversion pay varies with the complexity of the conversion; an average conversion will net you about $500. We will contact you regarding your qualifications and to discuss plan conversion policies and compensation should you qualify.

Job 201: Off-Site Tech Support Consultants

Our Off-site Tech Support Consultants provide technical assistance via telephone to 401k Easy Online customers. No selling or travel is involved. All work is done via telephone and e-mail from the consultant's home or personal office.

  • Tech Consultants earn $20.00 per 15 minutes!
    We value quality Tech Support Consultants and pay accordingly.
  • Tech Consultants work via telephone from their own homes or offices.
    Tech Consultants work via telephone from their own homes or offices. No traveling is required. You can set up anywhere you like so long as when you contact our customers, the conversation can be conducted in a business-like manner (no excessive or inappropriate background noise, cell phone interference, etc.) and you have the requisite PC setup plus 401k Management Guide and other materials that you will need to answer the customer questions.
  • Tech Support Consultants set their own hours.
    We contact you regarding a customer needing help, assign the tech call to you, then you contact the customer. Customers sometimes specify a "best time to reach me" but other than that you can contact the customer at whatever time during normal business hours that is most convenient for you within the ensuing 24 hour period.
  • We can assign a technical support case to you via e-mail, phone, pager or cell phone, whichever best suits your needs.
    As a Tech Support Consultant, you never have to sit chained to your desk waiting for our calls. We do require, however, that you be easily reachable at the times you have told us you will be available and that when you contact our customers that you do so in a professional, timely manner and from a location that in no way inhibits you providing the service contracted for.
  • No extensive 401k experience is required.
    Being a Tech Support Consultant does not require extensive 401k knowledge or experience. Tech Consultants do, however, need a basic understanding of the 401k plan administration cycle — an understanding that can largely be acquired by working with our online software and guide.
  • Tech Support Consultants need to demonstrate a mastery of using 401k Easy Online.
    If you are accepted into the program, we will supply you with a list of common technical issues and their solutions and with a 401k Management Guide before asking you to show us what you can do. In addition, Off-site Tech Consultants always have access to our in-house technical staff for help with any issue.

    If you excel at explaining things to people and helping them through procedural tasks, have a good phone demeanor, and like to work out of your own home or office, you will likely make a skillful Tech Support Consultant.

    The online system is very easy to use (try it out for yourself). It comes with its own guided tour as well as a step by step 401k Management Guide. We created both to be user-friendly even for lay people. The materials help clients use the system to quickly address their 401k needs and are geared for use particularly by small businesses.

    Often the answers to peoples' questions are right in the 401k Management Guide. Thus, we recommend all our Tech Support Consultants become very familiar with our 401k Management Guide (both the printed Quick Guide and online 401k Help site), be able to locate and comprehend needed information quickly and easily, and be able to lead the caller through the correct procedure. Comfort and familiarity with using computer software and an aptitude for administrative-type programs are beneficial.
